Amazon is hiring a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support data center operations and ensure high availability and reliability. You'll work with electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, requiring skills in AWS and engineering disciplines.
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the critical nature of data center operations and are committed to maintaining high reliability and performance. You have experience with HVAC systems and are familiar with troubleshooting complex equipment, ensuring that mission-critical servers operate with better than 99.999% uptime. Your hands-on approach to problem-solving makes you a valuable asset in maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
You possess a solid understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs — your technical skills allow you to effectively maintain and operate essential equipment. You are detail-oriented and proactive in identifying potential issues before they escalate, ensuring that all systems function optimally. Your ability to work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers is crucial in achieving team goals and maintaining service levels.
You are eager to learn and grow within the field of data center operations — you understand the importance of continuous improvement and are open to feedback and training opportunities. Your commitment to safety and adherence to operational protocols ensures that you contribute positively to the work environment.
Experience with diesel generators and related fuel systems is a plus, as is familiarity with cooling systems such as centrifugal chillers and cooling towers. You may also have knowledge of water chemical systems and air handlers, which will enhance your ability to manage the diverse equipment found in data centers.
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.
