SpaceX is hiring a TIG Welder for the Raptor Thermal Protection System to weld and fabricate engine components. You'll work with precision tools and technical drawings, requiring at least 1 year of TIG welding experience.
You have at least 1 year of experience with TIG welding and a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. Your background includes working with various materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, or titanium. You are proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and have experience with precision calibrated tools like torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers. You are familiar with aerospace TIG welding and have knowledge of completing welds that pass visual inspections before being X-rayed or dye penned. You have experience operating forklifts and cranes, and you are comfortable using various mechanical tools without instruction.
You have 5+ years of experience in welding and hold certifications with AWS D17.1 and D1.2. Your skills include cutting, grinding, deburring, and fabrication, and you are proficient in blueprint reading and layout. You have a strong understanding of welding processes and techniques, ensuring high-quality results in your work.
As a TIG Welder at SpaceX, you will be responsible for welding, assembling, and fabricating various engine thermal protection system components and sub-assembly components. You will perform your work according to established procedures, specifications, and test instructions, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. You will operate forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment as needed, and you will perform blending, filing, and shearing of sheet metal piece parts. Your role will require you to follow detailed work instructions and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
