SpaceX is hiring an Automation & Controls Engineer to develop automated solutions for the Starship production line. You'll work hands-on with hardware and software systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering and automation technologies.
You have a strong background in automation and controls engineering, with hands-on experience in designing and activating hardware and software systems. You are familiar with NFPA79/NEC/UL508A compliance standards and have a solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics. Your experience includes working with industrial control panels and you are adept at balancing product specifications with process requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working alongside talented engineers to develop innovative solutions.
Experience with automation technologies and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with the aerospace industry. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which allows you to tackle complex challenges effectively. A passion for space exploration and a desire to contribute to groundbreaking projects like Starship will set you apart.
In this role, you will participate in the conceptual development of new equipment, ensuring that all designs meet stringent specifications and requirements. You will lay out new industrial electrical control panels and create detailed schematics that guide the production process. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the transport and storage solutions for Starship vehicles. You will be involved in the testing and validation of automated systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
