Amazon is seeking a disruptive executive leader to provide strategic and tactical leadership over a team of central and field based Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering (RME) teams. The goal of the Amazon RME organization is to deliver zero equipment downtime to our Operations Partners. To meet this goal, we are continually striving to innovate and provide best in class service levels through the introduction of pioneering new products and services in terms of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Planning and Scheduling of maintenance activities, and the management of Critical Parts / replacement inventories. The Executive will take a leadership role to implement standard work process for all buildings, drive the recruitment of a best-in-class RME organization, and train and develop leaders who will scale with the organization. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the Amazon RME team to world class levels of safety, uptime, and reliability. This is a unique opportunity to drive standardization and efficiency to a system that will expand to become the largest transportation networks in the country.
Key Strategic Objectives
- Lead NA RME to world class safety performance.
- Drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Develop and maintain SME level knowledge for technology trends, safety and maintenance practices.
- Develop and drive clear business driven metrics to track NA RME’s performance.
- Drive consistency of process, training, and reporting across functional teams.
- Develop world class training program for RME technicians.
- Provide leadership, mentor and manage field-based Facilities Mangers in the expansion and continuous improvement of Amazon’s North American Fulfillment Network.
- Recruit, interview, and hire bar raising talent in the Facilities Maintenance and Facilities Area Manager roles.
· Bachelor’s Degree
· The ability to lead and execute through Lean/Six Sigma, and to then proceed to influence peers to adopt these best practices throughout the organization
· Has lead teams of 100+ people and scaled teams 25%-30% per year
· Has managed a P&L of $500MM or more and lead multiple line and staff functions both on the revenue generating and cost sides
· 10+ years experience managing groups that provide diverse facilities/engineering support.
· Multi-site experience
· Must have the ability to work independently to develop and lead a team to deliver.
· Strong change management and influencing skills, ability to negotiate and communicate across all levels of the organization.
· Dynamic approach with the ability to translate theory into practical application- MBA
- Robotics/automation experience is strongly preferred.
- Exhibits excellent judgment
- Knowledge of mission-critical facilities infrastructure requirements, including interpretation and application of building codes and working knowledge of building codes and safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, NEC,UBC, and others as applicable

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $163,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $242,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
