Overview

Databricks is hiring a Senior Manager for Commissions FP&A to lead the GTM Finance team in earned commission planning and analytics. This role involves strategic partnership with Sales Compensation and requires strong analytical skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in finance, particularly in earned commission planning and forecasting, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to design compensation plans that align with business objectives. You are skilled in financial analysis and reporting, enabling you to provide insights on commission attainment relative to business performance. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels. You are detail-oriented and have a proven track record of managing financial processes, including monthly accruals and variance analysis. You thrive in a strategic role where you can influence decision-making and drive financial performance.

Desirable

Experience in a technology or SaaS company is a plus, as is familiarity with sales compensation strategies and financial modeling. A strong understanding of financial systems and tools will help you excel in this position. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvements and have a knack for data-driven decision-making.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the GTM Finance team’s earned commission planning, forecasting, and reporting. You will partner with the Sales Compensation Strategy team to ensure that the compensation plan design aligns with the desired business objectives. You will own the cost model for the annual comp plan design workstream, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to design quota guardrails and accelerator rates. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining a bottom-up commissions forecast, leveraging actuals and forecasted top-line performance to provide insights to business partners on comp plan attainment. You will run the monthly commissions accrual process, providing inputs to Accounting and communicating key variance drivers to Finance leadership. Additionally, you will conduct ad hoc analysis and make recommendations based on your findings, ensuring that the finance team supports the overall business strategy effectively.
