Key job responsibilities
Drive Strategic Insights
• Spearhead business intelligence initiatives that directly impact Amazon's pricing and promotions strategy
• Develop advanced analytical metrics and models to uncover hidden business opportunities

Innovate with Advanced Analytics

About the team
The Pricing and Promotions (P2) Science, Data and Insights team is at the forefront of Amazon's data revolution, orchestrating a sophisticated ecosystem with hundreds of PBs of data and thousands of active datasets that empower business leaders to create exceptional customer experiences through data-driven pricing and promotional strategies. Our team combines deep engineering expertise with business acumen to manage mission-critical data and insights that influence billions in revenue decisions, while pioneering innovative approaches that transform how Amazon understands customer behavior and market dynamics. Our strength comes from the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of our team members, who bring unique problem-solving approaches to these complex challenges. We're currently implementing an ambitious three-year transformation strategy that will fundamentally reshape how Amazon makes pricing and promotional decisions, focusing on intelligent automation and proactive insights that drive business outcomes. Beyond managing science, data, and insights, we're true strategic partners who translate complex information into actionable intelligence that shapes Amazon's direction across global marketplaces. If you're passionate about solving complex business problems at massive scale while working in a collaborative culture that values both analytical rigor and business impact, you'll find compelling opportunities to grow and make a meaningful difference on our team.- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelors Degree- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
