Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to take on the challenge of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience in troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a critical guardian of our technological backbone. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that our data centers run smoothly and efficiently.

You have a background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, with practical experience in working with systems such as diesel generators, UPSs, and three-phase electrical systems. Your ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly is complemented by your attention to detail and commitment to safety standards. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to support AWS's global infrastructure.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your primary responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, UPSs, PDUs, and other essential equipment to maintain a high level of uptime.

You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, identifying potential issues before they escalate. Your hands-on approach will involve working directly with equipment, performing repairs, and collaborating with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex problems.

In this role, you will also participate in incident response efforts, working to restore services quickly and efficiently in the event of a failure. Your ability to think critically and act decisively will be crucial in maintaining our commitment to 99.999% uptime.
