Who you are
You are a final year university student graduating in 2026 or earlier, eager to transition from academia to a full-time tech career. You possess a keen interest in technology and its application in the financial markets, particularly in trading systems where precision and speed are crucial. You are open to learning and ready to engage in an immersive program that will enhance your problem-solving skills and technical knowledge. You have Australian working rights and are prepared to participate in a five-day intensive program that could lead to a graduate role at Optiver.
Desirable
While not mandatory, any prior experience or coursework related to coding, quantitative analysis, or financial markets would be beneficial. A proactive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with peers and mentors will help you make the most of this opportunity.
What you'll do
During the Career Kickstarter program, you will engage in a series of interactive lectures and practical projects that will deepen your understanding of options theory and the technology that drives trading success. You will work closely with Optiverβs education team, gaining insights into the quantitative industry and how technology plays a pivotal role in trading. This program is designed to sharpen your coding skills and enhance your ability to think critically and build like a developer. You will also have the chance to network with industry professionals and receive mentorship that can guide your career path.

If you are traveling from outside Sydney, we will cover your travel and accommodation costs.
