Nuro is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Localization and Mapping team to develop robust mapping systems for autonomous robots. You'll work with C++ and state-of-the-art algorithms to enhance robot navigation. This role requires experience in building map systems in uncertain environments.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing robust mapping systems that operate effectively in uncertain environments. Your background includes a strong understanding of state estimation algorithms and their application in real-world scenarios. You are proficient in C++ and have a passion for robotics and autonomous systems, eager to contribute to innovative solutions in logistics and transportation. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to fostering inclusion and psychological safety within your team. You are driven by the challenge of solving complex problems and are excited about the future of robotics.
Experience with autonomous driving technologies or robotics is a plus. Familiarity with data analysis and performance characterization of algorithms will enhance your contributions to the team. In this role, you will research, develop, and implement state-of-the-art mapping and state estimation algorithms that are crucial for the navigation of Nuro's autonomous robots. You will analyze and characterize the accuracy and performance of these algorithms, ensuring they meet the high standards required for real-world applications. Your work will involve creating map solutions from various data sources, which will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our robotic systems. You will build well-tested C++ software, deploying and testing it on our robotic platforms and in simulation environments. Collaboration with other engineers and teams will be essential as you contribute to the design and implementation of the map system used in our current and future robots.
