SpaceX is hiring a Structural Engineer to design and build infrastructure for the Starship Launch Engineering team. You'll work on aerospace and commercial structural engineering projects in Cape Canaveral, FL. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering and have experience in structural design for aerospace, industrial, or commercial projects. You are skilled in developing and issuing drawings and design documentation, ensuring that all calculations for steel and reinforced concrete design are accurate and compliant with regulations. You have a strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting processes and can drive the necessary coordination to obtain these permits. Your experience includes managing the structural aspects of construction projects in the field, where you excel in quality control and conflict resolution while coordinating with a multi-discipline contractor team.
You are adept at interacting with contractors, fabricators, owners, and internal clients to develop project requirements, schedules, and cost estimates prior to project implementation. You take ownership of the budget and schedule for your scope of work within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that all facets of engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction are aligned. You are proactive in resolving design and construction conflicts in real-time, demonstrating your ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure.
Experience with advanced structural analysis software and familiarity with industry standards and codes will be beneficial. A background in aerospace engineering or experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects will set you apart.
