Overview

Microsoft is seeking a Consulting Project Manager to oversee project portfolios and manage escalations. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance and driving employee growth. This role requires strong project management skills and experience in consulting.

Who you are

You have a strong background in project management, ideally with experience in consulting environments. You are adept at resolving issues and managing escalations, ensuring that both internal and external compliance requirements are met. Your ability to oversee project health reviews and manage resources effectively is key to achieving strategic objectives. You have a proven track record of driving employee growth and development, and you understand the importance of performance management in a consulting context.

You thrive in environments where you can act as a primary escalation point for customer or technical issues. Your experience includes reviewing and approving contracts and change requests, and you are comfortable adding input into deal constructs early in the pre-sales cycle. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of risk management, which allows you to monitor and control project risks effectively.

You are a natural leader, capable of managing a diverse team and fostering a culture of growth and development. You understand the dynamics of working with cross-functional teams and are skilled at engaging with internal executives to drive project success. Your communication skills are exceptional, enabling you to articulate project goals and expectations clearly to all stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience in the greater Washington DC area is preferred, but candidates from locations along the Eastern seaboard will also be considered. Familiarity with Microsoft’s strategic objectives and resource management practices will be advantageous.

In this role, you will oversee one or more project portfolios, ensuring that all compliance requirements are met and that projects are delivered on time and within scope. You will manage escalations from consulting project managers and act as the primary point of contact for any customer or technical issues that arise. Your responsibilities will include conducting project health reviews and ensuring that resources are effectively assigned to engagements.

You will play a critical role in driving change within the global community, initiating outreach to customers and stakeholders to enhance project outcomes. Your ability to review risks and issues will be essential in maintaining project momentum and achieving strategic objectives. You will also be responsible for managing performance and driving employee growth within your team, ensuring that all team members are supported in their professional development.

Your role will involve collaborating with various teams across Microsoft to ensure that project deliverables align with the company’s mission to empower every person and organization on the planet.
