Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Account Executive to target and close new business with large strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of closing experience, particularly in field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of $1M+, operating with an average deal size of $100k+. Your ability to develop a deep comprehension of customer businesses allows you to effectively negotiate favorable pricing and business terms, demonstrating the value and ROI of the solutions you offer. You possess an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency. You thrive in a collaborative office culture and appreciate the creativity that comes from teamwork.

Desirable

Experience working with Fortune 1000 companies is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud environments and the challenges organizations face when migrating to the cloud. You are resourceful and can navigate challenges that defy easy solutions, making you an asset to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Your focus will be on uncovering the pain points organizations face as they operate in or migrate to a cloud environment at scale. You will handle existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory. Your role will involve demonstrating resourcefulness when faced with challenges and ensuring that you identify a robust set of business drivers behind all opportunities. You will also be responsible for negotiating favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises, selling value and ROI effectively.
