Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Lift Master to support the Starship program by overseeing pad and infrastructure builds and advising on heavy equipment procurement strategies. This role requires expertise in lift planning and safety management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in overseeing heavy lifting operations, particularly in complex environments like aerospace or construction. Your background includes developing lift plans and acting as a lift director, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently. You are skilled in training operators and monitoring contractor performance, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

You understand the importance of strategic planning in lifting operations and can provide valuable insights to leadership regarding equipment procurement and talent development. Your ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders ensures that all team members are aligned and informed about safety protocols and operational goals.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or similar high-stakes environments is a plus. Familiarity with heavy equipment and lifting technologies will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices in lifting operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide direct support for the Starship pad and infrastructure builds, ensuring that all lifting operations are executed with precision and safety. You will advise on the procurement of heavy equipment, ensuring that the necessary capabilities are available for the tasks at hand. Your responsibilities will include writing and implementing lift plans, acting as the lift manager for critical lifts, and performing signatory duties on critical lift forms.

You will lead training sessions for heavy equipment operators, ensuring they are well-prepared to execute their roles safely and effectively. Monitoring contractor performance will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will conduct safety briefings and audits to uphold the highest standards of safety in operations.

Your role will also involve collaborating with the leadership team to support strategic planning for lifting operations, providing insights that drive efficiency and effectiveness in all lifting activities. You will be instrumental in fostering a safety-first culture within the team, continuously seeking ways to improve operations and enhance safety measures.
