Benchling is seeking a Product Designer to enhance user experiences for scientists in biotechnology. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product strategy and design solutions. This role requires experience in product design and proficiency in Figma.
You have a strong background in product design, ideally with experience in the biotechnology or life sciences sector. You understand the importance of user-centered design and have a portfolio that showcases your ability to create intuitive and engaging user experiences. You are skilled in Figma and have experience with prototyping and user testing. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring innovative solutions to life. You are adaptable and can navigate the challenges of a startup-like environment, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines. You are passionate about using design to solve complex problems and improve workflows for scientists.
In this role, you will own the design process for Benchling’s small molecule solution, from initial concept through to execution. You will work closely with product management and engineering teams to define product strategy and prioritize features that enhance user experience. You will conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform your design decisions. Your responsibilities will include creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that align with user needs and business goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and effectively. You will also participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the design team. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of scientific workflows and contribute to the advancement of biotechnology.
