Job Description

Role Overview
The Mechanical Supplier Quality Management (SQM) position focuses on sustaining projects and ensuring superior product quality. This role serves as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal teams to maintain component and assembly specifications across our global supply chain.

Key Impact Areas
• Drive quality excellence across supplier network
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Support new product launches and sustaining programs
• Maintain compliance with quality standards



Key job responsibilities
Quality Management
• Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs
• Conduct supplier quality audits and assessments
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Manage quality documentation and reporting

Supplier Development
• Evaluate and qualify new suppliers
• Develop supplier capability improvement plans
• Lead supplier process change qualifications
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews

Technical Leadership
• Validate manufacturing processes and capabilities
• Analyze quality data and trends
• Provide technical guidance on tooling and manufacturing processes
• Lead failure investigations

Project Management
• Manage multiple concurrent quality projects
• Coordinate cross-functional teams
• Report project status to senior management
• Develop and track quality-related KPIs- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in consumer electronics industry
- Proven experience in troubleshooting
- Proficiency in some secondary processes including:
- -Assembly processes
- -CNC operations
- -Laser applications
- -Adhesive applications
- -Surface coating
- Expertise in basic quality tools including:
- -Capability Process Index (CPK)
- -Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- -Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- -8D Problem Solving
- English communication skills
- Available for extensive travel (50%+)- Master's degree in Engineering or related field
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Technical project management experience
- Advanced quality tools, including Hypothesis testing, Design of Experiments (DOE), etc.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
- Demonstrated project management capabilities
