Stripe is hiring a Senior US Payroll Tax Specialist to manage compliance with US payroll tax regulations across nearly all states. You'll work closely with various teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and tax filing. This role requires expertise in payroll operations and familiarity with Workday.
You have a strong background in payroll operations, particularly in managing compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. With at least 5 years of experience in payroll processing, you understand the complexities involved in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Your attention to detail and commitment to compliance make you a reliable partner in financial operations. You are familiar with Workday and have experience in system configuration, which allows you to navigate payroll systems effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with HR, Legal, Tax, and other departments to deliver a seamless payroll experience. You may also hold a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation, which further demonstrates your expertise in the field.
While not required, experience processing US equity transactions such as NSOs, RSUs, and ESPPs would be beneficial. Additionally, familiarity with handling mergers and acquisitions, as well as accounting experience related to journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, would enhance your candidacy. Experience in processing payroll for a large public company with over 10,000 employees is also a plus.
In this role, you will manage key aspects of payroll tax operations, ensuring compliance with regulations across nearly all 50 states. You will oversee payroll processing, tax filing, and remittance, ensuring that all operations align with Stripe's governance standards. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to maintain accuracy and consistency in payroll operations. You will also be responsible for system configuration within Workday, ensuring that the payroll system is optimized for efficiency and compliance. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing peace of mind to employees and enabling leaders to make informed business decisions based on accurate payroll data. You will be expected to stay updated on changes in payroll tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments to processes and systems. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of the Payroll team and Stripe's mission to increase the GDP of the internet.
