Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record of leading software development teams, with at least 5 years of experience in software engineering and a strong understanding of cloud technologies, particularly AWS. You excel in strategic thinking and can drive implementation effectively, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality solutions that meet customer needs. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, enabling your team to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You are passionate about technology and its potential to transform business operations. You understand the unique challenges that come with developing end-user computing solutions and are excited to tackle these challenges head-on. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is one of your key strengths, allowing you to bridge the gap between technical teams and business objectives.

You have experience in managing cross-functional teams and are adept at aligning technical projects with business goals. Your background includes working with diverse teams across different time zones, and you thrive in collaborative settings where you can share knowledge and learn from others. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance team performance and product quality.

Desirable

Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools is a plus. Familiarity with user experience design principles and the ability to incorporate user feedback into product development will set you apart. You are also encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Manager at Amazon, you will lead a team of engineers focused on building and enhancing end-user computing services. You will be responsible for defining the technical vision and strategy for your team, ensuring that projects align with the overall goals of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization. You will oversee the development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment, and ensure that your team adheres to best practices in software development.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable development plans. Your role will involve mentoring and coaching team members, helping them to grow their skills and advance their careers. You will also be responsible for managing project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that your team meets deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

In addition to technical leadership, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation within your team. You will encourage experimentation and the exploration of new technologies that can enhance the user experience and improve operational efficiency. Your ability to analyze data and metrics will help inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in your team's processes and outputs.

What we offer

At Amazon, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will have a significant impact on the success of our customers. We value diversity and inclusion and strive to create a workplace where everyone feels empowered to share their ideas and perspectives. Join us and be part of a team that is shaping the future of end-user computing.
