Google is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer specializing in ASIC Power Management Architecture. You'll leverage your expertise in power management techniques and algorithm development to innovate custom silicon solutions. This role requires 8+ years of experience in ASIC power management.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and you have at least 8 years of experience with ASIC power management architecture. Your background includes hands-on experience with hardware or software power control flows and methodologies, which has equipped you with a deep understanding of power management techniques such as Voltage Frequency Scaling (DVFS/AVS). You are familiar with algorithmic development and prototyping software for power management, and you have experience modeling and validating in virtual prototyping and TLM environments. Your knowledge extends to the impact of software and architectural design decisions on power and thermal behavior of systems, including thermal mitigation and scheduling, as well as cross-layer policy design. You are passionate about pushing boundaries and developing custom silicon solutions that enhance the performance and efficiency of Google's products.
A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an emphasis on computer architecture is preferred. Experience in modeling and validating power components and power management techniques will set you apart. You have a keen interest in shaping the next generation of hardware experiences and delivering unparalleled performance and integration in your work.
In this role, you will oversee end-to-end correlation from presilicon micro benchmark power estimates to CUJ modeling estimates, focusing on architectural assumptions used for modeling. You will propose architectural features and requirements for mempath to improve overall KPIs. Your contributions will directly impact the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, as you collaborate with a team that combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware. You will be responsible for algorithm development, modeling, and analysis of various architecture approaches, ensuring that your work aligns with Google's mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.
