Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — your hands-on experience allows you to troubleshoot complex equipment effectively. You have a background in maintaining and operating various systems, including diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment — your expertise ensures that all components function optimally. You are comfortable working with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, collaborating to keep the cloud running smoothly.
Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as it aligns with your role in supporting global data centers. Familiarity with troubleshooting UPS systems, PDUs, and air handling units will enhance your ability to contribute effectively. As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers — your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. You will work closely with a team of engineers to monitor systems, perform routine maintenance, and address any issues that arise, ensuring that our facilities maintain an extraordinary 99.999% uptime.
You will be responsible for the upkeep of stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are ready for operation when needed. Your role will also involve working with three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear and UPSs, to guarantee that power is consistently supplied to our critical infrastructure. You will engage in hands-on troubleshooting, diagnosing issues with pumps, motors, and cooling systems, and implementing solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
Collaboration is key in this role — you will partner with software, hardware, and network engineers to address challenges and improve processes. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our data centers, making you an integral part of the team that supports AWS's global infrastructure.
