MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer 3 (SE3) to enhance developer productivity by designing and building features for their Internal Developer Portal. You'll work with technologies like MongoDB, Node.js, and React, requiring 2-4 years of fullstack development experience.
You have 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on fullstack development — you've designed and built scalable, modern web applications that enhance user experience and developer workflows. Your expertise includes working with technologies such as MongoDB, Node.js, TypeScript, and React, allowing you to create efficient and maintainable code. You are familiar with unit testing frameworks like Cypress, Jest, and Playwright, ensuring the quality and reliability of your applications.
You possess hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools, which helps you maintain high standards in software delivery. Your familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, or Azure, enables you to deploy applications effectively in various environments. You have leveraged Kubernetes and Helm in your projects, demonstrating your ability to manage containerized applications and modern infrastructure-as-code tools.
Your solid understanding of API integrations and service discovery mechanisms allows you to build and maintain a robust service catalog, contributing to the overall architecture of distributed systems. You are committed to sound engineering practices like continuous delivery and automated testing, which are essential for maintaining high-quality software.
You excel in communication and collaboration, successfully partnering with different engineering teams, including product developers, platform engineers, and SREs. You are comfortable writing and reviewing technical design documents and specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
Hands-on experience with additional tools and technologies related to developer productivity will make you stand out in this role. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies that can further enhance the developer experience at MongoDB.
As a Software Engineer 3 (SE3) on the Developer Productivity team, you will design and build scalable features for MongoDB’s Internal Developer Portal using Backstage. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to improve developer workflows and internal tooling. Your role will involve writing clean and maintainable code, implementing features based on architectural guidance, and ensuring that the tools you develop meet the needs of your colleagues.
You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and maintenance. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the development teams at MongoDB, allowing them to focus on delivering high-quality products to customers.
You will also engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
