Stripe is hiring a Backend Engineer to revolutionize financial operations through innovative automation solutions. You'll work with Java and Spring to enhance efficiency and scalability in Stripe's financial ecosystem. This role requires experience in developing and debugging distributed systems.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have war stories from debugging complex distributed systems issues. You possess deep expertise in Java and Spring — you've shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests and have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You are familiar with operational excellence and understand the importance of optimizing the end-to-end performance of distributed systems. You focus on the needs of users, both internal and external, and hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems.
As a Backend Engineer at Stripe, you will join the Commerce Systems Automation and Acceleration (CSAA) team, dedicated to revolutionizing the company's financial ecosystem through innovative automation solutions. You will develop cutting-edge technologies that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across Stripe's financial landscape.
