Job Description

### **About the Role** As Uber Delivery accelerates its growth across EMEA, we’re establishing a centralized Scaled Operations Hub in Amsterdam to drive consistent, high-quality execution across a diverse and expanding set of markets. We're seeking a strategic and operationally minded leader to head Scaled Operations for the Rest of EMEA, focusing on newly launched and emerging markets. In this role, you'll act as a key operational partner to local teams ensuring seamless delivery across our Merchant, Earner, Marketplace, and Consumer workstreams. You’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for day-to-day execution, aligned with regional goals, while continuously evolving the operational model to scale sustainably. This role is ideal for someone energized by complexity, passionate about operational excellence, and motivated by impact at scale. ### **What You’ll Deliver** - Drive Operational Excellence: Ensure flawless execution against key KPIs and SLAs across multiple functions and markets. Own outcomes and act as the operational heartbeat for Rest of EMEA. - Partner with Country GMs: Build strong alignment with local General Managers balancing in-market agility with regional consistency. Hold shared accountability for performance. - Lead Shadow P&L Ownership: Identify levers to improve cost structure, enhance efficiency, and elevate service levels across our platform operations. - Establish Scalable Operating Rhythms: Build and maintain performance dashboards, cadences, and review mechanisms to monitor results and flag opportunities. - Enable Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Vertical Operations, Strategy, Product, and other partners to scale best practices and accelerate market adoption. - Manage Trade-offs with Precision: Anticipate challenges across markets and make effective decisions that serve both local needs and regional ambitions. - Grow and Develop Top Talent: Build and lead a team of operational experts. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and growth. - Adapt and Innovate the Operating Model: Continuously evolve how we operate to support a fast-changing regional landscape. ### **What You’ll Need** - 10+ years in operations, strategy, general management, or marketplace execution in a high-growth, matrixed environment. - Demonstrated success leading multi-market operations with measurable impact on KPIs and business results. - Strong commercial acumen and comfort with P&L-level decision-making, especially around cost and service optimization. - Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across geographies and functions. - Deep operational rigor and analytical thinking, able to turn data into strategy, and strategy into execution. - Exceptional people leadership skills with a track record of building high-performing, diverse teams. - Experience working in or with hub-based support models serving multiple markets. ### **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience in centralized operations or shared service environments. - Familiarity with the EMEA region, particularly early-stage or growth markets. - Background in platform or marketplace businesses (e.g., Delivery, Mobility, or related tech sectors). ### **What Success Looks Like** - KPI Performance: >95% SLA adherence across operational workstreams, with continuous improvement in cost-per-order and service quality metrics. - Stakeholder Satisfaction: High satisfaction from GMs and regional teams, driven by responsiveness and alignment with strategic goals. - Team Growth: A cohesive, high-performing team with strong engagement and low attrition. - Scalable Systems: Sustainable rhythms, tools, and processes that enable consistent execution and adaptability across all Rest of EMEA markets. ### **Why Join Uber** At Uber, you’ll do work that moves the world bridging digital platforms and real-world impact across continents.
