Google is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Commercial Operations in Global Infrastructure and Energy. You'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects and manage cross-functional teams. This role requires 5+ years of program management experience and expertise in cost benchmarking and contract management.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program or project management. Your background includes 3 years of experience in cost benchmarking, contract management, commercial agreements, account management, expense management, financial analysis, and invoicing policies. You are skilled at managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, and you possess the ability to think globally and strategically. Your strong interpersonal skills allow you to build relationships and work effectively within teams and with cross-functional partners.
You thrive in environments where you can influence change across a technical organization, navigating priorities and needs to deliver effective solutions. Your experience has equipped you to manage projects of various sizes and scopes, identifying future opportunities and synthesizing commercial and operational data. You are comfortable explaining analyses and recommendations to executives while also discussing technical trade-offs with engineers.
You have a proven track record of leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, utilizing your engineering expertise to plan requirements with internal customers. Your ability to manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders is a key strength. You are adept at architecting and maintaining centralized systems that support new commercial workflows, translating defined processes into clear requirements for internal teams.
In this role, you will lead complex engineering projects at Google, ensuring that they are executed efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from planning and requirements gathering to execution and delivery. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams, including Global Networking Negotiators, Technical Project Managers, Finance, and Accounting, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
You will identify risks associated with projects and communicate these to stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed and prepared to address potential challenges. Your ability to think strategically will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of Google's global projects, keeping the big picture in focus while diving into unique engineering challenges.
You will also be responsible for synthesizing commercial and operational data, maintaining a centralized Cost Library for accurate unit cost breakdowns. This will involve translating commercial processes and commitment tracking needs into clear requirements for the internal tooling team, collaborating to design, configure, test, and deploy system customizations and enhancements.
