Job Description

Who you are

You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in communications or marketing, demonstrating a strong ability to lead strategic initiatives that engage diverse audiences. Your expertise lies in crafting compelling narratives that resonate with various stakeholders, and you excel at translating complex ideas into accessible content. You are an excellent communicator, both in writing and verbally, with a proven track record of driving successful multi-channel campaigns. You thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at working with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. Your strategic mindset allows you to identify opportunities for audience engagement and recruitment, particularly in the context of social impact and community development.

Desirable

Experience in the non-profit sector or with social enterprises is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities present in East and West Africa. You are comfortable using data to inform your strategies and can adapt your approach based on audience insights and feedback. A background in digital marketing and social media management will enhance your ability to connect with target audiences effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development and execution of communication strategies that support Acumen's mission across East and West Africa. You will oversee local marketing efforts, ensuring that messaging aligns with organizational goals and resonates with target audiences. Your responsibilities will include managing audience engagement initiatives, crafting content for various platforms, and coordinating recruitment campaigns for Acumen's new program. You will work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to shape the brand voice and ensure consistency across all channels. Additionally, you will analyze campaign performance and audience feedback to refine strategies and improve engagement outcomes. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to identify key messages and opportunities for outreach, as well as representing Acumen at events and in public forums.

What we offer

Acumen offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, along with the opportunity to work in a hybrid model that balances in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a meaningful impact in communities across Africa. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in our mission to build a world based on dignity and create sustainable markets that empower individuals and communities.
