You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in API development, and you understand the intricacies of building scalable systems that serve diverse user needs. You have a proven track record of driving technical projects from conception to execution, and you thrive in environments where you can influence the technical direction of a team. Your experience includes working closely with product teams to expose new functionalities via APIs, and you are adept at rearchitecting frameworks for simplicity and ease of use. You are a strong communicator, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the API team at Asana, driving the technical vision and execution of the Developer Platform. You will collaborate with product teams to identify and implement new functionalities that enhance user experience and meet customer needs. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the architectural design of the API, ensuring that it is secure, scalable, and easy to use for external developers. You will mentor and grow the engineers on your team, providing guidance and support as they tackle complex challenges.

You will also be responsible for setting the technical standards and best practices for API development, ensuring that the team adheres to high-quality coding standards and effective testing strategies. Your role will involve regular communication with stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables, and you will play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
