Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Strategic Account Executive to drive sales within State, Local, and Education sectors. You'll leverage your sales expertise to build relationships and achieve revenue targets. This role requires a passion for technology and experience in enterprise sales.

You have a proven track record in sales, particularly within the State, Local, and Education sectors, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex sales processes and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your passion for technology drives you to understand customer needs deeply, allowing you to convey the value of solutions effectively. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to personal development and team success, always looking for ways to improve your skills and contribute to the growth of your organization.

You possess excellent negotiation skills, enabling you to secure favorable pricing and business terms with large enterprises. Your experience in managing existing customer relationships while prospecting new accounts showcases your ability to balance multiple priorities and drive results. You are comfortable working in a hybrid workplace, valuing the relationships and collaboration that come from in-person interactions while also embracing the flexibility of remote work.

Desirable

Experience in cloud technology sales or familiarity with hybrid cloud environments would be advantageous, as would a background in public sector sales. You are adaptable and can pivot your approach based on the unique needs of each customer, ensuring that you deliver tailored solutions that meet their specific challenges.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large State, Local, and Education organizations, running an efficient sales process that aligns with Datadog's best-of-breed product offerings. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, identifying existing relationships and aspirational contacts to maximize your impact. Your deep comprehension of customer business will allow you to negotiate effectively, ensuring that you sell value and ROI to your clients.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer needs are met and that the sales process is seamless. Your ability to convey the value of Datadog's solutions will be crucial in driving revenue growth and expanding the company's footprint in the public sector. You will also be responsible for tracking your sales activities and outcomes, using data to inform your strategies and improve your performance continuously.
