Job Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Key job responsibilities
The Leo Supply Chain team is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to support Business, Manufacturing and Engineering stakeholders in developing, implementing and our supply base. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record working with a global supply base in developing, implementing and scaling process, tools and inventory positions in order to achieve business needs. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive Mechanical Hardware supply chain strategies to support high-volume satellite production while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation
• Lead strategic supplier selection, qualification, and relationship management for complex, high-reliability mechanical components and assemblies
• Drive technical alignment between design teams, manufacturing partners, and quality engineering to optimize manufacturability and yield
• Establish and oversee sophisticated supply chain monitoring systems to ensure continuity of critical components and materials
• Create and manage contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, including multi-sourcing strategies and geographical risk diversification
• Partner with systems engineering and hardware teams to influence design decisions that impact supply chain resilience
• Lead cross-functional programs to qualify new technologies and manufacturing processes


A day in the life
In this role you will be actively working with Mechanical Engineering teams, sourcing, quality, digital operations, internal testing and security team to develop and implement manufacturing tests across global supply base for ground gateway equipment. The products will enable mission critical, high throughput communications with Leo satellites. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to manufacture, test, and distribute solutions and products globally enabling Leo's global network.

- 9+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Deep technical understanding of hardware manufacturing processes, materials, and quality requirements for aerospace- Demonstrated experience in system bring-up, manufacturing line testing and new product introduction
- Experience with high-volume electrical and Machined Part manufacturing and LRU production
- Demonstrated track record in implementing cost reduction initiatives
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to drive process improvement and tool development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
