Refrigeration Technician

Who you are

As a Refrigeration Technician, you are the resident expert in refrigeration systems with a strong background in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration equipment. You have experience working with industrial refrigeration systems, including large rack systems, split systems, and blast chillers. Your knowledge of safety, food safety, and security standards is paramount, and you are committed to ensuring compliance in all operations. You have a proven track record of performing preventive maintenance and routine inspections on refrigeration and HVAC systems, demonstrating your ability to keep equipment running smoothly.

You possess strong troubleshooting skills, allowing you to diagnose and correct issues with out-of-service equipment effectively. As a mentor, you guide lower-level technicians, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles. Your ability to lead root cause analysis of major downtime events showcases your analytical skills and commitment to improving system reliability. You are also adept at documenting all work in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and ticketing systems, ensuring that all maintenance activities are tracked and reported accurately.

What you'll do

In this role, you will maintain and operate various industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring they function efficiently and effectively. You will lead the maintenance team in performing preventive maintenance and routine inspections, identifying potential issues before they escalate. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting equipment failures and acting as an escalation point for lower-level technicians. You will document all maintenance activities in the CMMS, providing a clear record of work performed and any issues encountered.

You will also mentor maintenance personnel, helping them develop their skills and knowledge of refrigeration processes, tools, and techniques. Your leadership will be essential in conducting audits of maintenance personnel work and providing constructive feedback to enhance performance and quality. Additionally, you will lead network-wide root cause analysis efforts, collaborating with other technicians to identify and resolve systemic issues that affect equipment reliability.
