You are comfortable working with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, allowing you to manage deployments efficiently.

What you'll do

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at OpenAI, you will own the technical delivery across multiple deployments, guiding projects from initial discovery through to stable production. You will build full-stack systems that deliver customer value, embedding closely with customer teams to understand their needs and facilitate the adoption of your solutions. Your role will involve scoping work, sequencing delivery, and proactively addressing any blockers that arise.

You will contribute directly to the codebase when necessary, ensuring that the technical aspects of the deployment are clear and well-executed. Additionally, you will codify working patterns into tools and playbooks that can be utilized by others, enhancing the efficiency of future deployments. Your insights and field feedback will be invaluable in helping the research and product teams understand customer needs and improve offerings.
