Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in technical program management, ideally with experience in hardware development and aerospace. Your ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects is complemented by your technical understanding of vehicle hardware systems. You thrive in environments where autonomy and ownership are encouraged, and you are passionate about solving problems that have not been solved before. You understand the importance of collaboration and communication in driving projects forward, and you are adept at navigating the challenges that come with developing cutting-edge technology.

You possess excellent organizational skills and can manage multiple priorities effectively. Your experience includes risk management and the ability to analyze and mitigate potential issues before they arise. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing requirements while maintaining focus on project goals. You are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your team, encouraging others to share their ideas and contribute to the success of the project.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with rocket development is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and customer-facing interactions will enhance your ability to succeed in this role. You may also have a background in software development or engineering, which will help you bridge the gap between hardware and software teams.

What you'll do

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Relativity, you will lead the Vehicle Hardware team through the full lifecycle of the Terran R launch vehicle, from design to build, qualification, and flight. You will be responsible for defining project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure that all aspects of the vehicle meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

You will facilitate regular meetings and updates to track progress, address challenges, and celebrate milestones. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be crucial in ensuring that everyone is on the same page and working towards common goals. You will also be responsible for managing project budgets and resources, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope.

In addition to project management, you will play a key role in shaping the culture of the Vehicle Engineering organization. You will encourage team members to take ownership of their work and foster an environment where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand. Your leadership will help define the processes and practices that will guide the team as they work on groundbreaking technology that has the potential to change the future of space exploration.

What we offer

At Relativity, you will be part of a mission-driven company that is dedicated to advancing science and innovation through rocket development. We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000—$166,000 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work alongside a talented team of engineers and innovators who are passionate about their work and committed to making a difference. We believe in the importance of diversity and inclusion, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us and be part of something extraordinary.
