Google is seeking a Control Engineer for Data Center Design and Construction to optimize mission-critical infrastructure projects. You'll work with control systems and programming, ensuring compliance and efficiency in data center operations. This role requires 5+ years of relevant experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience working on process improvements for mission-critical infrastructure projects. Your background includes working with mission-critical systems such as power generation and data centers, and you have hands-on experience implementing controls engineering. You are familiar with writing control code and control system programming, and you possess knowledge of digital and analog controls, particularly with BMS, EPMS, and SCADA projects. Additionally, you have a solid understanding of IT server and network systems that support data center services, as well as industrial communication protocols like Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, and Device Level Ring.
Desirable
A Master's degree in Engineering is preferred, as well as experience in control system validation. Your expertise in these areas will help you thrive in a role that demands both technical knowledge and innovative thinking. You are a visionary who seeks to optimize efficiencies and continuously improve processes, understanding that even small changes can have a significant impact.
What you'll do
In this role, you will define data center system-level product architecture and engage in research and development to enhance operations and maintenance procedures for systems and processes. You will conduct engineering analysis and research designs and methods for data center equipment and facilities, ensuring that all designs and installations meet operational requirements such as predicted cooling and structural integrity. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and facilities technicians to drive implementation of your recommendations, communicating effectively with senior-level executives to present your ideas and insights. Your technical expertise will be crucial in ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices, as you work to create state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities that meet the demands of modern data center operations.
