Amazon is hiring a WHS Remediation Site Manager to oversee the management of contaminated sites and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role requires collaboration with design, construction, and operational teams to protect communities and the environment.
You have a strong background in workplace health and safety, particularly in managing contaminated sites. Your experience includes working with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety regulations and engineering controls. You are skilled in providing oversight and guidance to contractors and environmental consultants, ensuring that all activities meet the necessary standards. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively convey risks and collaborate with internal and external teams. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating environmental risks.
As the WHS Remediation Site Manager, you will develop and implement programs across multiple stakeholder teams to manage contaminated sites safely and compliantly. You will take charge of departmental management of these sites post-due diligence, ensuring adherence to all approval conditions. Your responsibilities will include reviewing engineering control designs prepared by vendors and providing support during the pre-construction phase of projects. You will also review contractor tender packages to ensure they meet design and health and safety requirements. Additionally, you will coordinate and oversee contractors and environmental consultants during sub-surface construction activities, conducting inspections of contaminated site capping and containment systems. Your role will involve continuous communication with stakeholders to identify and mitigate environmental risks effectively.
