Responsibilities

As a Rust engineer at Phantom you’ll be doing everything from building delightful user interfaces and creating cross-platform client infrastructure on the frontend, to creating APIs, data pipelines and services that bridge the gap between the blockchain and the user experience our users have come to expect on the backend.

• Transaction Reliability & Performance: Designing and optimizing systems that ensure Phantom transactions land quickly and consistently across rapidly evolving Solana network conditions.

• Order Flow Optimization: Architecting strategies to maximize value capture and execution quality from Phantom’s unique retail order flow.

• Ecosystem Awareness: Staying ahead of Solana market structure changes driven by key players like Jito, Solana client developers, and new SIMD proposals—adapting Phantom’s systems to leverage these advancements.

• Cutting-Edge Infrastructure: Collaborating across engineering and product to build resilient, performant systems that define the standard for wallet transaction infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in software development, with at least 2 years of experience in Rust.

• Proven experience in contributing to Solana client development or forks.

• Highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about building cutting-edge transaction landing infrastructure.

• English language mastery both in spoken and written forms.

The target base salary for this role will range between $200,000 to $230,000 with the addition of equity and benefits. This is determined by a few factors including your skillset, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews and market factors (such as location) at the point in time of offer.
