Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Workplace Manager to oversee Ring’s HQ real estate portfolio and facility management. This role will also offer remote space planning and facilities support for three additional west coast locations. Candidate is a key contributor to the site operations and will sometimes travel between domestic locations. This role combines real estate/construction management, portfolio strategy, project management skills, onsite engagement strategy, and team leadership including vendor team management. The successful candidate must operate as a trusted advisor to business leaders, and partner to Finance, HR, IT, and other functional areas. The ideal candidate is an experienced, vibrant, and engaging professional who is customer obsessed and will excel within an entrepreneurial culture – they have an ownership mentality, providing expertise, vision, leadership, exceptional communication skills, and have a vision for delivering a great work environment for the team.

Key job responsibilities
• Drive strategy and direction for facility management & workplace innovation framework to ensure consistency across functional teams – Site operations consistent with regional program guidelines and vision; think regionally, execute locally
• Enhance the domestic workplace experience by driving efforts to manage and facilitate Amazon’s growth and commitment to flexibility, office programs, and team culture
• Ensure all departments support a positive work environment for the team
• Conceptualize large-scale space planning and project management, own plan for commercial real estate optimization, and manage contracts for vendors/services related to facilities management
• Develop long and short-range maintenance plans/programs (e.g. emergency response plans, energy management plans, environmental health and safety plans, business continuity, etc.) in accordance with Amazon’s security and safety policies
• Mentor, develop, and coach a to strengthen their leadership and assist in achieving career growth. Drives organizational changes
• Develop priorities and targets for team members to increase collaboration and project management skills to increase productivity of team and achieving objectives within budget



A day in the life
• Research new products, laws, & regulations related to workplace innovation, for the purpose of recommending efficient purchases and increasing workflow efficiency
• Supervise team and provide leadership on decision making, root cause analysis, inspection and audit readiness, communication, management of planning/scheduling and assignment, and drive overall improvement of productivity
• Manage facilities capital and operating budgets, reporting monthly on budget performance. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously as well as being able to influence, and develop relationships at all organization levels
• Establish, enhance, track, and report on metrics to allow performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved to plan and in a timely manner
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs versus technical and operational constraints
• Maintaining the relationship with IT stakeholders, Security & Janitorial Vendors
• Auditing building mechanism/maintenance (interior & exterior)
• Filtering through fresh service ticketing queue & troubleshooting
• On-site space physical coordination (moves, desk setups, etc.)


About the team
Ring’s Workspace Experience team provides space and occupancy planning, lease management, facilities maintenance and management, workplace services operations, and PMO services across Ring’s Global Organization. ● Bachelor’s degree (Real Estate/Facility Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or Organizational Management)
● 5+ years related work experience in Workplace Strategies, Business Administration, Facility Management, Project Management, and overall Facility Operations including at least 3 years in a management role.
● Must have strong background in people management and supplier contract management
● Excellent interpersonal skills, organization skills, and strong analytical ability
● Excellent communication skills – oral and written
● Excellent PC skills: proficiency in all MS applications.
● Must be able to juggle responsibilities and strategize on efficiency and priority
• Proven success working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Facilities experience in a startup setting
• Experience using Facility management software
• Track record of successful lease negotiations
• Demonstrable experience building corporate processes in a real Estate or Facilities environment
• Implementation of process automation technology and work order ticketing systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $78,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $138,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
