Amazon is hiring an Area Manager II to lead a team in their WW Operations network. You'll be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and performance while managing customer delivery expectations. This role requires strong leadership and operational management skills.
You are a motivated and customer-focused individual with experience in managing teams in a fast-paced environment. You understand the importance of safety, quality, and performance in operations and are committed to maintaining high standards. You have a proven track record of engaging and mentoring hourly workforce, ensuring they are motivated and productive during their shifts. You are physically capable of lifting up to 49 pounds and can stand or walk for extended periods, adapting to variable temperatures and noise levels in the workplace.
Experience in logistics or supply chain management is a plus, as is familiarity with operational workflows. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate with various support teams, including Safety, Engineering, and Human Resources. You are comfortable working in a dynamic setting and are eager to contribute to the overall success of the operations team.
In this role, you will lead a team of hourly associates, supporting and motivating them to achieve their best performance. You will manage key operational metrics, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met consistently. You will collaborate with various support teams to develop and implement plans that align with business objectives, ensuring that customer delivery promises are fulfilled. Your responsibilities will include monitoring team performance, conducting regular safety audits, and addressing any operational challenges that arise.
You will play a crucial role in maintaining workflow efficiency across the first, middle, and last mile of operations. This includes overseeing the processes from when products are housed and ready for order, through to their delivery at the customer's door. You will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment, where team members feel valued and engaged in their roles. You will also be involved in training new associates and providing ongoing support to ensure they meet performance expectations.
