Coupang is hiring a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to innovate and enhance their Global Operations Technology systems. You'll work with Java to ensure reliable order fulfillment in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. This role requires significant backend engineering experience.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable production systems. You’ve owned services from design through deployment and have a wealth of experience debugging complex distributed systems issues. Your deep expertise in Java allows you to ship high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have strong opinions on service architecture, dependency injection, and testing strategies. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to drive innovation. You are entrepreneurial at heart, eager to take on new challenges and make a hands-on impact in your role. You understand the importance of customer satisfaction and are motivated by the mission to enhance the e-commerce experience.
