Backblaze is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead the end-to-end revenue accounting function. You'll ensure compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong accounting expertise and experience in revenue recognition.
You have a strong background in accounting, particularly in revenue recognition, with experience in ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP compliance. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to manage complex revenue accounting operations effectively. Your ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering, is essential for success in this role. You thrive in a remote work environment and are comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in your work.
Experience in a technology or cloud storage company is a plus, as is familiarity with subscription and consumption-based billing models. You are proactive in identifying process improvements and have a track record of implementing scalable solutions in revenue accounting. Your ability to draft clear and concise revenue memos and support audit processes will be invaluable in this position.
As the Revenue Accounting Manager at Backblaze, you will lead the revenue accounting operations, overseeing daily invoice and order approvals, as well as the monthly and quarterly revenue close processes. You will be responsible for revenue reporting and reconciliations, ensuring that all revenue streams are accurately recognized in compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP. Your role will involve drafting revenue memos and providing audit support, making you a key partner to various stakeholders across the organization.
You will establish and maintain scalable revenue accounting processes that align with the company's growth and evolving business models. Collaborating closely with the Finance team, you will ensure that revenue recognition policies are effectively communicated and adhered to across the organization. Your insights will help drive strategic decisions and improve overall financial performance.
