Overview

Google is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to manage labor relations and support stakeholders in Japan. You'll leverage your expertise in HR operations and local labor laws to drive effective strategies. This role requires fluency in Japanese and English, along with significant HR experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Law, Human Resources, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist. Your fluency in both Japanese and English allows you to effectively communicate and support stakeholders in Japan. You are adept at managing ambiguity and analyzing metrics to identify root causes and opportunities for strategic adjustments. Your experience includes leading and implementing global HR operational projects, focusing on system applications, risk management, and change management. You possess a strong understanding of local labor laws and the labor relations environment, enabling you to act as a trusted advisor to management at all levels.

Desirable

You have a proven track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively across teams, building relationships with local Labor Management Councils and committees. Your ability to monitor and analyze internal and external trends, as well as regulatory changes, positions you as an expert advisor on labor relations issues. You are committed to developing and delivering comprehensive training to enhance labor relations acumen across HR and internal stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of a team of labor relations professionals at Google, where you will build and manage relationships with local Labor Management Councils and committees, aligning with Google’s culture and values. You will act as a trusted advisor to HR and management on labor relations issues, providing guidance based on your expertise in local labor laws and regulations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and analyzing trends in labor relations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and developing strategies to improve efficiency in labor relations practices.

You will lead initiatives to enhance labor relations skills across HR and internal stakeholders, delivering training programs that foster a deeper understanding of labor relations. Your role will also involve collaborating with various teams to implement HR operational projects, ensuring that all activities align with Google’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for analyzing metrics related to labor relations and using this data to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
