Mozilla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Localization) to contribute to various localization projects and technologies. You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on localization technologies — your experience includes working with Django and Python to build scalable applications that enhance user experiences across different languages and cultures. You understand the importance of internationalization and have engaged with standards such as Unicode MessageFormat, ensuring that products are accessible to a global audience.
You are familiar with open-source development practices and have contributed to projects that empower communities of volunteer localizers — your collaborative spirit drives you to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can navigate complex technical challenges with ease, ensuring that localization processes are efficient and effective.
Your technical expertise extends to JavaScript, allowing you to work on front-end components that interact with localization systems — you are comfortable integrating various technologies to create seamless user experiences. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Localization Team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Mozilla's localization infrastructure — your work will involve enhancing the Django-based Translation Management System, Pontoon, and supporting the integration of open-source libraries like moz-l10n. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that localization processes are streamlined and effective, enabling a better user experience for millions of users worldwide.
You will engage with the global community of volunteer localizers, providing support and guidance to enhance their contributions — your role will involve developing tools and resources that empower localizers to deliver high-quality translations. You will also work on internationalization features that shape the experience of Firefox and other Mozilla products, ensuring that they meet the needs of diverse user groups.

Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of €55,000—€74,300 EUR for this remote position in Belgium.
