Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Canton, Mississippi. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime for AWS data centers.

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to tackle the challenges of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a vital part of the team. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that our data centers run smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems. You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they escalate. You are eager to learn and grow in your role, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling systems is a plus. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and cloud services will set you apart as a candidate. A background in facilities maintenance or operations within a data center environment is also beneficial.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data centers. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and various cooling equipment to ensure optimal performance. Your role will involve conducting regular inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to equipment failures to minimize downtime. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to implement improvements and upgrades to our systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our operations. You will also document your work and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
