Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed and/or highly concurrent software systems — you've tackled complex challenges and understand the intricacies of building robust software. Your strong systems fundamentals include multi-threaded programming and performance profiling, allowing you to optimize applications effectively.

You possess proven experience in building, deploying, and operating multi-tenant cloud services with a focus on operational excellence — your background has equipped you with the skills to ensure high availability and reliability in cloud environments. Familiarity with database internals or experience building core components for data processing systems is a plus, as it aligns with the core responsibilities of this role.

Hands-on experience in developing performance-sensitive software is essential — you thrive in environments where performance is critical and have a track record of delivering high-quality solutions. Your experience with large backend/compiled codebases, preferably in Rust or C++, positions you well for this role, as you will be working on the next generation of MongoDB's cloud storage architecture.

What you'll do

As a Senior Engineer on the Storage Layer Services Team, you will play a crucial role in re-architecting the MongoDB Cloud Storage Layer — your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of our cloud storage architecture. You will collaborate with other talented engineers to build performant multi-tenant distributed storage services, ensuring that they meet the needs of our diverse customer base.
