Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments. You thrive in collaborative settings and are excited to work alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists.

You possess a basic understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, and UPSs. You are familiar with mechanical systems such as cooling towers and centrifugal chillers, and you are eager to expand your knowledge in these areas. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and finding efficient solutions.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as is familiarity with data center operations. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that enhance operational efficiency. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe working environment and are committed to following best practices in safety and compliance.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers global digital experiences. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment within the data center, ensuring that all systems operate smoothly and efficiently. Your work will directly contribute to achieving an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%, which is essential for our customers' access to cloud services.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on mission-critical facilities. This includes working with stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and various cooling systems. You will also assist in monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement, contributing to the overall efficiency of the data center operations.
