Betterment is seeking a Senior Manager of Broker-Dealer Financial Operations & Controls to oversee financial and operational aspects of their broker-dealer business. You'll ensure compliance with industry regulations and optimize operational processes. This role is based in New York City with a hybrid work model.
You have extensive experience in financial operations, particularly within the broker-dealer space, and understand the complexities of managing compliance with FINRA and SEC regulations. Your background includes overseeing financial reporting and internal controls, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. You excel in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and automate processes. You are adept at managing relationships with third parties, including auditors and banking institutions, and have a proven track record of safeguarding significant assets.
As the Senior Manager of Broker-Dealer Financial Operations and Controls, you will lead the operations of Betterment’s broker-dealer entity, which manages over $65B in assets for more than one million customers. Your role will involve overseeing firm-level dividend and corporate action processing, as well as conducting reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. You will design and implement internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while also optimizing operational processes to support the company's growth. Collaborating with various teams, you will drive initiatives to improve and automate workflows, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness.
