Overview

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer to build tools for generative AI and enhance model capabilities. You'll work with Java and participate in the full software development life cycle. This position requires 3+ years of professional software development experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, demonstrating your ability to contribute effectively to complex projects. Your background includes 2+ years of design or architecture experience, where you've applied design patterns and ensured reliability and scalability in systems. You are proficient in at least one programming language, showcasing your versatility and technical skills. Your experience encompasses the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. You hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, providing you with a solid foundation in software engineering principles. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside product teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

Desirable

Experience with generative AI or machine learning models would be a plus, as it aligns with the mission of the Shopping Foundations ATLAS team. Familiarity with human-in-the-loop tooling can enhance your contributions to the team. A passion for experimenting and innovating on behalf of customers will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will join the Shopping Foundations ATLAS team, focusing on building tools and capabilities that support data annotation for LLM and Shopping ML models. You will collaborate with a talented team of Software Engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, and Operations teams to deliver on the vision of human-in-the-loop tooling for generative AI. Your responsibilities will include participating in all parts of the software development process, from collaborating on design with stakeholders to implementing scalable and extensible solutions. You will have the freedom to experiment and innovate, contributing to the development of tools that enhance the capabilities of model builders. Your role will also involve ensuring that the systems you develop are reliable and efficient, adhering to best practices in software engineering.
