Job Description

Who you are

You are a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in designing and testing complex systems, particularly in the aerospace or satellite industry. You have experience with structural, thermal, and electromechanical challenges, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can partner with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to life. You possess proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, enabling you to create detailed models and simulations that inform your engineering decisions. You are passionate about space exploration and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a project that aims to democratize internet access globally.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus, as is familiarity with the full design lifecycle from ideation to production. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that all designs meet rigorous standards for performance and reliability. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your work and the team's output.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Starlink team, you will be responsible for solving complex engineering problems related to satellite hardware. You will engage in the full design lifecycle, from initial concept through to testing and manufacturing. Your role will involve collaborating with electrical engineers, software engineers, and other specialists to ensure that all components work seamlessly together. You will conduct simulations and analyses to validate your designs, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance. Additionally, you will participate in hands-on testing and troubleshooting of prototypes, ensuring that all systems meet the required specifications before mass production.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new technologies that enhance the capabilities of the Starlink constellation. This may involve researching and implementing innovative materials or design techniques that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of satellite operations.
