Job Description

Amazon’s Ops Tech Solutions Supply Chain (OTS-SC) plans, sources, makes and delivers IT equipment necessary to empower Amazon’s Worldwide Stores Business. OTS-SC responsibilities include Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Scheduling, Capital planning, Risk management, Sourcing, Order processing, Warehousing, Assembly, Provisioning, Transportation, Repair, Replacement and Disposal of IT equipment. Within OTS, the Inventory and Asset Management team is responsible for standardizing and streamlining inventory and asset management processes across First, Middle and Last Mile customers as well as internal warehousing and assembly locations.

This role will work cross-functionally with different technical and non-technical stakeholder groups such as Engineering, Deployment, Field and Supply Chain to deep dive existing process opportunities and develop improved process flows for inventory and asset management for both deployed and un-deployed assets. The role will also stand-up new processes due to lack of existing process infrastructure and write data-focused strategy papers to gain alignment. Additionally, this role will develop metrics to define and measure success of the processes being set up.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop processes from scratch and identify untapped opportunities that will enable OTS to reduce cost, drive simplification and efficiency. This position will work with multiple stakeholders from different teams across the globe, building scalable and sustainable solutions.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead the integration of Last Mile facilities into Amazon’s inventory management framework, refining existing policies to accommodate the distinct challenges of smaller, high-turnover sites.
- Oversee inventory control for IT products across 5000+ Amazon facilities, including Last Mile sites, ensuring data thresholds are optimized for each location's operational needs.
- Manage excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory globally, developing and implementing strategies to repurpose, return, or resell assets in line with Amazon’s inventory management policy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across OTS verticals and customer business units to continuously refine and standardize inventory management processes across all facility types.
- Identify and resolve process and system gaps as the inventory framework scales to Last Mile sites, ensuring that tracking systems are scalable and capable of handling increased operational complexity.
- Define and implement key inventory metrics, such as Optimal Inventory Thresholds, Inventory Shrinkage, Days of Cover, Aged Inventory, and Excess/Obsolete percentages, maintaining alignment with company-wide goals.
- Drive the reduction of excess and obsolete inventory across all IT Hub and Last Mile locations by establishing best practices and pursuing year-over-year cost-saving and efficiency improvement targets.
- Develop phased program plans with defined milestones and deliverables to ensure the smooth integration of Last Mile sites into the broader inventory management framework.
- Lead the development of automated systems to track and report on inventory health, providing stakeholders with real-time, data insights through monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
- Communicate inventory program status and results to executive team through detailed white papers, program status updates, and formal business review presentations.
