Overview

Samsara is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Global Compliance team. You'll develop systems to help customers manage driver operations while ensuring compliance with regulations. This role requires expertise in Java and Python.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in developing scalable systems that handle complex data and operations. Your background includes working with compliance-related software, and you understand the intricacies of regulations affecting commercial drivers. You are proficient in Java and Python, and you have experience with REST APIs, which are essential for building the systems that our customers rely on. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of how to optimize systems for performance and compliance. You are also open to mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge with the team.

Desirable

Experience with IoT technologies or telematics systems would be a plus, as would familiarity with data analytics tools that help in monitoring and reporting compliance metrics. A background in transportation or logistics software development is also advantageous, as it aligns with the challenges our customers face in managing their operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions that help our customers navigate the complexities of driver compliance. You will work on systems that allow for the recording, monitoring, and reporting of driver hours and compliance metrics. Collaborating with product managers and compliance experts, you will ensure that our solutions meet regulatory requirements while providing a seamless user experience.
