Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in thermal engineering, with extensive experience in heat transfer and spacecraft thermal control. Your leadership skills are proven, as you've successfully managed engineering teams and projects from conception through execution. You understand the complexities of electronics packaging and thermal reliability, and you are adept at subsystem thermal management. Your analytical skills enable you to conduct thorough data analysis to support mission operations, ensuring that all thermal systems meet stringent requirements.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Your communication skills allow you to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance processes and outcomes in thermal system design and execution.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus, as is familiarity with TVAC test planning and execution. You may also have a background in project management methodologies, which would further enhance your ability to lead teams effectively.

What you'll do

As the Thermal Engineering Manager at Astranis, you will own the end-to-end execution of the satellite thermal system. This includes overseeing the technical design and ensuring that all thermal hardware meets the necessary specifications. You will lead a team responsible for electronics packaging and thermal reliability, guiding them through the complexities of subsystem thermal management.

Your role will involve planning and executing vehicle and unit level TVAC tests, ensuring that all systems are rigorously tested and validated. You will also be responsible for data analysis to support mission operations, providing insights that drive decision-making and enhance system performance.

Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure that thermal considerations are integrated into the overall design and operation of the satellites. You will also engage with stakeholders to communicate progress and address any challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

What we offer

At Astranis, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is expanding humanity's reach into the solar system. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Our culture values diversity and inclusion, encouraging all team members to bring their unique perspectives to the table. Join us in shaping the future of satellite communications and making a meaningful impact on the world.
