Mozilla is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to enhance Firefox development workflows and improve integration and automation processes. You'll work with technologies like JavaScript and Python in a remote setting based in Finland. This role requires significant experience in software engineering.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on improving development workflows and CI processes. Your background includes mentoring team members and collaborating with geographically-distributed teams to enhance productivity and efficiency. You are proficient in JavaScript and Python, and you understand the intricacies of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. You thrive in environments where you can contribute to open-source projects and are passionate about making the internet better for users.
Experience with Docker and Git is a plus, as well as familiarity with testing frameworks and debugging tools. You are comfortable working in a remote setting and have excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across different time zones.
In this role, you will focus on improving Firefox development workflows, aiming to reduce the time developers spend on testing and debugging. You will work closely with the development team to identify bottlenecks in the current processes and implement solutions that enhance efficiency. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices, and contributing to the overall improvement of the team's output. You will also engage in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code is maintained.
You will collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable tasks for the engineering team. Your role will involve integrating new tools and technologies that can streamline workflows and enhance the development experience. You will also participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and future goals, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common objectives.
Mozilla offers a competitive salary range of €44,000—€64,000 EUR for this remote position in Finland.
