Job Description

Who you are

You are a motivated and pragmatic attorney with a strong background in commercial law, particularly in the public sector. With a demonstrated ability to navigate complex SaaS transactions, you possess a curiosity for technology and a growth mindset that drives your professional development. You understand the intricacies of public sector regulatory compliance and are adept at advising sales teams on legal matters. Your experience includes working with federal agencies and systems integrators, allowing you to effectively support a diverse range of clients.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with sales and go-to-market teams to ensure that all transactions align with legal requirements. Your communication skills enable you to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, fostering a culture of understanding and compliance within the organization. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always looking for ways to mitigate risks and enhance the efficiency of legal processes.

Desirable

Experience in the technology sector, particularly with data and AI companies, is a plus. Familiarity with federal contracting and procurement processes will further enhance your ability to contribute to the team. A strong network within the public sector can also be beneficial as you navigate relationships with various stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving direct and channel SaaS transactions with public sector customers. You will advise on the full range of regulatory compliance areas applicable to a rapidly growing Data and AI company. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and providing legal guidance to sales teams. You will also be involved in developing training materials and resources to educate internal teams on legal best practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to address them. Your role will require you to stay updated on changes in public sector regulations and industry standards, ensuring that Databricks remains compliant and competitive in the market. You will also engage with external legal counsel as needed, managing relationships and overseeing any outsourced legal work.
